Television Evangelist Pat Robertson made some uncommon observations regarding the Haiti earthquake on his CBN newscast Wednesday, calling the quake a possible blessing and saying the Haitian people are cursed. His spokesman said Robertson’s comments were based on Voodoo rituals carried out before a slave rebellion against French colonists in 1791.
Haiti quake is the worst in the history of the country in 200 years. The quake broke down buildings, famous hotels, florida hotels, schools and even government buildings.
Robertson: Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people may not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of the French–you know, Napoleon III, and whatever–and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, “We will serve you if you get us free from the French.” True story. And so the Devil said, “Okay, it’s a deal.”…But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after the other.
