    Random Access Memory or RAM

What is RAM? Short for Random Access Memory. Some computers usually come with 256 Megabytes of RAM installed. It can reach 512 Megabytes or more than that. RAM provides space for the computer to be able to write and read data. It is commonly accessed by the Central Processing Unit or the CPU. When someone ask you about your computer’s memory, they are actually referring to RAM.

Adding more RAM to your computer is favorable. This means you are reducing the number of times that your CPU reads from your hard disk. This also means your computer works faster.

All you data stored in RAM and stays there as long as your computer is running, but when off, the data in your ram also disappears.
