Ranking has changed. Was it wrong before?
Your ranking wasn’t wrong before, but it was different. Alexa toolbar users’ interests and surfing habits could differ from those of the general population in a number of ways, and we described some of those possible differences on our website. While the vast majority of sites’ rankings were unaffected by such differences, we’ve worked hard on our new ranking system to adjust for situations in which they could matter.

Improved Methodology :
Traffic is being normalized from the global panel to provide consistently accurate rankings for all countries.
More sources :
Alexa rankings are now based on more sources of data to give a better indicator of website popularity.
Better Rankings :
Rankings are now an even better indication of website popularity due to new and improved algorithms.
In other words, Alexa Ranking is now playing the opposite. What does it mean? An increase in your Alexa Ranking is a good news and a decrease in ranking is a bad news.
Checking at what Alexa has in store now, the previous chart shows a 5-years maximum statistics, now it shows only a minimum of 9 months.
If i were to ask, i still like the old ranking style of Alexa. How about you?

i haven’t even installed the alexa toolbar yet, thinking it’s just going to add to my already crowded toolbar. is it really worth it, i mean knowing your alexa rank when there’s real rank and google PR na?

i loved the old alexa, i hope the new indicator would be made public by them so that we would know. hirap manghula kung ano pa ang dapat e-improve e, bumaba kasi ako e :(
