Pinging is a way for weblog updates. The updates allow search engines to discover changes in your blog. It can be used manually or set automatically.

Actually, there are web based feed readers which are always looking for latest updated content on web blogs and you need to ping your blogs content which notifies these readers.

There are (2) two options :

Doing this manually for instance via Ping-O-matic is one way to Ping your new contents. The procedure is easy. Just submit your blog details like your Blog name and Blog home page and you’re done!

Update Services is a pre-installed option in your Wordpress blog using which you can notify the popular update services about your latest content on your weblogs. It is generally considered dangerous if you keep pinging the same content over and over again. and our recommendation is to add a list of pinging services in the Update services section and ping the content only once.

To do this, go to your Wordpress Dashboard –> Writing –> Scroll down and you’ll find Update Services.

Copy the list below the paste to the box provided, then click Update Options.
